Summer is here! Time for salads!
This one is quick, delicious and so good for you!

Summer in Austin, Texas can get really hot. We are looking at 100+ over the next few weeks and months. The best way to beat the heat for me is to get out on the water and eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables. That helps me feel light so I don’t get bogged down by the heat.

This recipe is so easy and so yummy. Did you know that eating ground black pepper along with turmeric helps your body absorb the turmeric? In other words, it increases the bioavailability of turmeric. Pretty great.

 

Turmeric, Black Pepper and Spinach Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 10-15 baby carrots
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 dash onion powder
  • 1 dash garlic granules
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric
  • 1 dash ground black pepper
  • 1 dash salt

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients, mix and eat!
