Simple Breaded Tempeh

I really love simple recipes. So, here is a quick and easy recipe to give and boost add some flavor to your Breaded Tempeh. This should take you less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup almond or soy milk
  • 1 package of tempeh (Lightlife is great brand)
Directions

Pour the olive oil into the a skillet and turn it on to med-low to let the oil warm up.

Cut the tempeh into 3-4 small squares. Then cut it down the center like you’re slicing a bagel so that the slices are thinner.

Set two bowls next to each other. In one bowl, put the almond milk. In the other bowl put the bread crumbs, onion powder and garlic powder.

Dip each tempeh square into the almond milk mixture first and then into the bread crumbs. Then place the square in the skillet. Repeat for all the tempeh squares. Let the tempeh squares cook on the skillet for approximately 6-7 minutes. Then flip each square over to get the other side. Cook on the other side for the same amount of time. And that’s it!

Feel free to add other seasonings or dry ingredients to the bread crumb mixture. It won’t hurt.
